For me personally as a reader, anything you choose is fine, but as a reccer, I don't bother reccing anything that isn't on a publicly accessible, non-passworded site, no matter how much I like it, since I know from long experience that most people won't take the extra steps to apply for a password from a recs page.
And from the perspective of someone interested in ensuring fannish history, I believe in building in redundancy when archiving (especially for long important works like yours). If you go the personal-archive-only approach, all it takes is one disaster with your host's server at a hypothetical point in the future when you're already losing interest in fandom (i.e., when you'd have no interest in re-building a website) and your work will be gone forever.
