September 1st, 2007CommentsHi sweetie! Here's what I think would be easiest. Post a link to TotP, but if you're concerned about how it's not an open option, use your links feature and provide one or more archives where your fics are open (wtp, skyehawke).
I migrated over my whole journal, so all the fics and chapters came, but I'll tell you, I'm not relishing re-doing all the chapter-to-chapter linking and tagging. And now all the links on my sticky post (fic masterlist) just shoot people over to my website. I suppose in the end it depends on how much time you have to dedicate to the process. The pros and cons tend to balance, and I don't think there's a perfect solution. Hope you're doing well. Did everything go well with your baby's move?

Hi there! *hugs*
I hear you, chapter to chapter linking is *not* fun on LJ. I suspect if I went that route, I would just use the tags and let people be inconvenienced. In a way I envy you your open site, but it just wasn't an option for me, not with all the stories I host and all the users I have. Just topped 7,900 the other day and, as I wrote you before, it's just so... huge now. I also thought about just using the link function, but until I can figure out the css on IJ, I'm not happy with the way it lays out. However, I'll still add them as I update the stories on the other archives. Just finished Epithalalium this evening and will start posting it to WTP tommorow. Can you remind me again why a mass re-editing of HU9E was such a good idea? *G* Yeah, she's settled happily in her new dorm with all her new friends in her new life; the hubbly, who is just as pleased as she is with what he saw, just returned this evening from taking her to school. He called me his last night there, all upset, and said the hardest thing he's ever done, even harder that leaving her in the OR, was standing on the sidewalk and just watching her walk away. Silly boy... thought he could just drop her off and remain unaffected? I guess it's a good thing he learned better, ya? Anyway, she called today while he was in transit and just gabbed for about a half an hour about absolutely nothing at all and then went about her business. Totally calm, for her, but one could tell... And me? I was doing fine until I found the little 'presents' she left me. I was rummaging around the CD's in the car the other day and found a new one with a note, "Mom songs for when the child is at school." I found another little, "I'll miss you, Mom," on the cover of the portable harddrive I lent her to back up her music before she left. Yeah, I lost it a bit, both times, but I'm kinda looking forward to the finding the rest of them she said she left. When one least expects it. Otherwise, I'm fine... just busy with trying to get this darn editing done and getting stuff posted to the site. And you? (Sorry, would leave one of those little heart thingies, but they don't seem to work here.)
